The ¡°meaning of sameness¡± is semantically termed ¡°synonymy¡±. In semantic environment, there are many opinions and discussions on this subject. There are two sides to the discussions: Those who accept the existence of the ¡°synonymy¡± situation on the one hand and those who do not. The problem of whether there is synonymy brings with the problem of term in Turkish semantics. There are many nomenclatures such as ¡°e£¿ anlaml£¿l£¿k, yak£¿n anlaml£¿l£¿k, anlamda£¿l£¿k, sinonim (Turkish equivalents of ¡°synonym¡±)¡±. This variety of naming leads to confusion in Turkish semantics. The starting point of this work is the confusion of this term. It is not possible for two or more linguistic forms have the same meaning in a natural language, without any distinction between them, as concurrent. When opinions and discussions about the issue are taken into consideration and evaluated, it is seen that two or more lingusitic forms can not have the same meaning. In this study, when the problems related to meaning such as semantic difference, context, interchangeability (salva veritate), etymology (the issue of native words and foreign words), lexical meaning, spoken language (language speakers), emotive and cognitive meaning are evaluated, it has been deemed appropriate to approach synonym as a meaning closeness. For this reason, the term "close meaning" has been preferred. Additionally, the close meaning is not limited to words only. This study is not limited to lexicology because the meaning closeness can be seen between every meaningful unit in the language. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the opinions and discussions about synonymy as a whole and try to bring a new perspevtive to the issues %K E£¿ anlaml£¿l£¿k %K yak£¿n anlaml£¿l£¿k %K anlambilim %K anlam ayn£¿l£¿£¿£¿ %U http://dergipark.org.tr/adea/issue/41715/455331
