%0 Journal Article %T The Transmisson of War Atmosphere through Emotions in The Novel Sar£¿kam£¿£¿/Beyaz H¨¹z¨¹n %A Selami Alan %J - %D 2018 %X Sar£¿kam£¿£¿, which hosts ninety thousand martyrs, is the monument of both heroism and sorrow. This place where considerable griefs were experienced has become the topic of many poems, folk songs, laments, plays or novels. However, novels have a privileged place among these literary genres. Because these works, which also benefit from the opportunities of fictional world, have the power of narrating the event in a more detailed and effective way through making depictions and analyses. The point which should be discussed here is whether narrating war scenes or griefs experienced in these works is beneficial for readers or not. One of the novels that can be evaluated with this point of view is Sar£¿kam£¿£¿ / Beyaz H¨¹z¨¹n by £¿smail Bilgin. The novel aims to remind the Sar£¿kam£¿£¿ operation and the soldiers who were martyred during this operation. The novel in which many different incidents are presented as sections around the main plot includes the emotions of both soldiers who went front line and people who were effected by mobilizations. Accordingly, the readers are expected to feel the harsh war atmosphere and the mood of struggling soldiers.
