%0 Journal Article %T QUALITATIVE RESEARCH ON THE MISTAKES OF 1ST GRADE STUDENTS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL ABOUT CURSIVE WRITING %A Adem YILDIRIM %J - %D 2018 %X This article sets out to analyze mis writings of 1st grade students in primary school on cursive writing in a detailed manner. In this research, as a data analysis descriptive analysis, and document review, a method of qualitative researchs, were used. The present research held in a public primary school in £¿slahiye, a district of Gaziantep, in 2015-2016 academic year. The findings were extracted by 45 1st grade students who have been educated in a public school. Turkish language notebooks of these forty-five students were utulized as a data source. According to research findings, 40 students(%88.8) can¡¯t write the letters of cursive writing properly and conveniently, 20 students(%44.5) don¡¯t pay attention to top extension of letters, 19 students(42.2) don¡¯t pay attention to bottom extension of letters, 16 students(%35.6) can¡¯t write the roots of letters correctly, 7 students(%15.5) make mistakes on beginning lines of letters. It was also identified that 15 students(%33.3) can¡¯t make the connections of letters correctly, 19 students(%42.2) can¡¯t write ending lines of letters, 40 students(%88.8) don¡¯t pay attention to traits of letters, 14 students(%31.1) can¡¯t leave a blank between letters in sentences and words, 6 students(%13.3) miswrite the letters which have almost same spelling when they are capital or minuscule, 19 students(42.2) write letters differently and disorderly.
