%0 Journal Article %T Analysis of Cut Flower Retailing in Zonguldak Province %J - %D 2019 %X With the developing socio-economic structure; environmental and visual awareness of life, especially with the demand for the production of ornamental plants continue to increase in proportion to the day. Suitable climatic and geographic conditions of our country, proximity to market countries and cheap labor force has caused significant increases in cut flower production area and quantity. In this study, the flower retailer in Zonguldak province was conducted to determine the current consumption structure and cut flowers. The study was carried out based on the data obtained from the survey conducted with 34 flower retailers in the city center and districts. Demographic structure of the retailers, the problems faced by the florists, the provinces where they supply the flowers, the types of flowers, the methods of sales, the status of the place of sale, the size of the place where the sale is made, the size of the shop and the transportation of the flowers, the most preferred special days and the most preferred cut flowers types were studied. According to the study, the most preferred cut flower is chrysanthemum and cut flowers are mostly used for bouquet making. £¿zmir and Yalova are the leading cities where cut flowers are supplied. In addition, flowers are mostly brought by wholesalers with air-conditioned refrigerated vehicles.
