%0 Journal Article %T Faculty Members¡¯ Opinions about Competency of Resi£¿dents Graduated from Ondokuz Mayis University Medical Faculty %J - %D 2018 %X Objective: This study aims to determine the faculty members¡¯ opinions about competency of residents who graduate from Ondokuz Mayis University Medical Faculty (OMU Medical Faculty). Material and Methods: This descriptive study applied to the faculty members that have residents graduated from OMU Medical Faculty. Data is collected with a survey which contains general satisfaction level, competency level, problems and solutions suggestion and faculty member identity information. In addition to the descriptive analyzes of the obtained data, the chi-square test was used for the categorical variables. Results: 68 of the 99 instructors (68.69%) who were included in the study are working inOMU Medical Faculty, 29(29.29%) were out of the institution. Although faculty members¡¯ overall level of satisfaction with OMU Medical Faculty graduates was high, it was found that they perceived residents ¡¯competency level as low in the areas of team member, leader and manager, educator, professional values and principles, continuing professional development, cultural competence and cognitive and high-level skills.
