%T The Image of World War II-Era Germany in the Turkish Novel

%X Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler are frequently mentioned directly or indirectly in the novels which discuss World War II-era. Turkish novel is not an exception in this context. There are a lot of works in Turkish novel which treat Turkish people¡¯s view on Germany and Hitler during the World War II-era. It is seen that there are two main images in these works about Nazi Germany in the minds of Turkish characters: One of them is ¡°Germany as a friend of Turkey¡± image and the other one is ¡°Germany as a servant of Islam¡± image. Both images have their own serious historical roots and when these roots are analyzed aright, projections of both images in the Turkish novel will be understood easier
