It is a long process to point out that the words have to take metaphorical meanings. A process similar to this is also experienced in the case of reduplication duals/hendiadys. Sometimes, some words have been used both in metaphorical narrative and reduplication duals/ hendiadys formation. Here, are two of these words are adr£¿l- and se£¿lin-. These words, besides their real meanings, in the sense of the ¡°separation of the person from this world and his/her relatives ones, so the death¡± has acquired a metaphorical meaning and it has also became an element of the adr£¿l- se£¿lin- reduplication duals/hendiadys. The meaning of the reduplication duals/hendiadys retains the metaphorical meaning of ¡°death¡± earned by the words. In this article both the words adr£¿l- and se£¿lin- have been viewed etymologically. Later, inscriptions and manuscripts with old Turkic script were examined and the semantic dimensions of the words were evaluated. In the last part of the article, adr£¿l- se£¿lin- hendiadys was evaluated.
