%0 Journal Article %T Assessment of Noise Level in Primary School Sampleand Evaluation of Teachers' Views: The Case of £¿zmir %A Murat Merkit %A M£¿zrap Bulunuz %J - %D 2019 %X Noise pollution has been imposed on every aspect of our lives as undesirable voices, creating negative physical, physiological and psychological effects in human beings. The aim of this study is to measure noise level in a primary school and to evaluate teachers' opinions about noise through question nairesand interviews. The study was carried out in a primary school in £¿i£¿li, Izmir. Decibel meter device was used to measure the sound level in the school. Twenty six teachers were surveyed at the school. The collected data were analyzed for frequency. The interview was conducted with six teachers. Noise measure mentsindicate that the sound level in the school is higher than the values stated in there gulation. According to the results of the survey and interviews, the majority of teachers generally find the noise level of their schools high. In order to prevent noise pollution in schools, trainings should be given starting from youngages. On the otherhand, in order to provide auditory comfort in the school, it is suggested that there levant institutions should work to ward simproving the acoustics of the classes.
