Methods: The universe of this cross-sectional research is comprised of staff working in different campuses connected to a university. The data for the study, along with the descriptive characteristics, were collected, in 2015, with the evaluation instrument of nutrition literacy on adults (EINLA) and dietary habits scoring questionnaire. No sample was selected in this research and 85.9% of the employees were reached (n=476). The analysis of the data was performed by using the SPSS 20.0 package programme. The software was used to create descriptive statistics for the summation of the data, chi-square tests to compare between groups, and binary logistic regression for further analysis. Results: 67.4% of the employees within the study were male and the mean age was found to be 36.4¡À8.23. 32.1% of the participants had an adequate nutrition literacy level and 8.4% of them had good dietary habits. Low nutrition literacy was more common among primary school graduates when compared to university school graduates (OR= 5.85, %95 CI: 3.12-10.97), and for single people than married people (OR= 2.53 times, %95 CI: 1.11-5.75). Nutritional habits were worse among women (OR= 1.70, 95% CI: 1.10-2.61) and for married people (OR= 2.45, 95% CI:1.28-1.33). However, there was no significant association found between nutrition habits and nutrition literacy. Conclusion: In health education programs intended for adults, there is a need for specific interventions for the evaluation and improvement of nutrition literacy levels.
