%0 Journal Article %T ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORTS AS A TOOL FOR FINANCIAL PUBLIC RELATIONS: A SURVEY ON TRADING COMPANIES IN ISTANBUL STOCK EXCHANGE %A Funda YALIM %J - %D 2018 %X Financial public relations, as a special branch of public relations, takes an important place in publicly held companies nowadays from the point of share value, providing trust and information. In global competition, the share values of companies are closely influenced by planned communication efforts against investors and other target markets. Financial public relations works being carried out towards different target markets aim to lead to an addiction by providing trust in financial products, increase stock value, and give information to financial environments. In order to achieve these targets, companies make use of several tools, one of which is annual activity report. This article aims to analyze annual activity reports of trading companies on transportation industry in Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) according to the questions under the title of ¡°Annual Reports¡± in Score Card generated by Turkish Investor Relations Society, and evaluate them within the concept of financial public relations. Score Card consists of questions on three different categories such as Activity Reports, Financial Results and Website. In this research carried out on transportation industry in BIST, annual reports of these companies are analyzed according to the questions in the section of Activity Reports, and the answers of these questions are sought one by one in activity reports. The answers are considered as ¡°available¡± or ¡°unavailable¡±: in other words, the answers with ¡°available¡± are marked with 1, and ¡°unavailable¡± ones are marked with 0. According to the results, GSD Marine, Real Estate, Construction, Industry and Trade Inc. was highest-scoring.
