%0 Journal Article %T THE CULT LEADERSHIPCONCEPT IN THE ITALIAN PROPAGANDA: "IL DUCE" BENITO MUSSOLINI %A Mustafa KARACA %J - %D 2018 %X The leader of the National Fascist Party, Benito Mussolini succeeded in becoming Prime Minister in Italy in 1922. From this process, he tried to make the ideology of Fascism dominant over Italy by carrying out an intensive propaganda activity with his supporters. For this purpose, the title "il duce (leader)" was firstly given to Mussolini and then started to be built as a cult leader in the Italian public opinion. In this study, how the Italian statesman Mussolini was built as a cult leader in the Italian propaganda was revealed by using a semiotic analysis method in qualitative research methods. For this purpose, four propaganda posters (Public, Ordu, Colonial, Victory) determined using purposeful sampling method in propaganda posters in the period when Mussolini was in power in Italy were examined in the light of the semiotic analysis of the French Language Scientist Roland Barthes, In the light of the findings, it was revealed that it was tried to form myths that the Italian people and the army supported Mussolini and that Italy obtained the old power of the Roman Empire in the cult leader's building in the propaganda poster %K K¨¹lt Liderlik %K £¿talya %K Propaganda %K Afi£¿ %K Mussolini %U http://dergipark.org.tr/e-gifder/issue/31789/442905
