These directors often use imaginary and ghost female characters in their search for new era genres. In this study, nine films that were made between 1987-1997, and contained imaginary and ghost elements were chosen. This study aims to analyze what the concepts of imaginary and ghostly mean in the world of these films. The main characters of these films are writers, directors etc. the reason for the characters having creative professions as such is that the directors of the films are actually displaying their own quests through these characters. These quests are the search for a new Turkish cinema genre by the directors who have been left in limbo. After the Ye£¿il£¿am era, T¨¹rkan £¿oray appeared as the ghost of Ye£¿il£¿am in some of these films which expressed the yearning the directors had for Ye£¿il£¿am. Also, since the directors will not create a new genre without leaving Ye£¿il£¿am behind, these ghosts are their reckoning with the Ye£¿il£¿am era. In the same way, in some of these films M¨¹jde Ar and new female actresses that represent her appear as imaginary. These dreams, which symbolize the directors search for new genres in New Turkish cinema, have sometimes given the directors direction and other times have been an experiment of style for them. The films examined in this study are respectively: My Dreams My Love and You, Nihavend Miracle, Her Name is Vasfiye, Oh Belinda, £¿ahmaran, Night Journey, Devil My Friend, The Secret Face and The Shadow Play %K T¨¹rk Sinemas£¿ %K Ye£¿il£¿am %K Yeni T¨¹rk Sinemas£¿ %K T¨¹rkan £¿oray %K M¨¹jde Ar %U http://dergipark.org.tr/e-gifder/issue/44615/408730
