%0 Journal Article %T Evaluation of Profitability and Diversity by the Data Envelopment Analysis of the Efficiency on the Growth of the Banks %A Aslan G¨¹LC¨¹ %A Murat D£¿LMA£¿ %A Serpil SUMER %J - %D 2018 %X Today, the banking sector operates in a competitive environment where factors such as innovativeness, quality and diversity of the service offered, and need for increasing resource are effective. It has been revealed in many academic studies that the Turkish banking sector has performed well in the face of sector specific and other economic problems with the successful restructuring process after the financial crises in 2000 and 2001. In this study, the effects of profitability and income diversification on growth performance of banks investigates. For this purpose, 19 banks operating in the sector is obtained from the second and third quarter financial data for 2015 and the obtained data are analyzed by data envelopment analysis. In the data envelopment analysis, the variables of profitability, income diversification and growth are adhered to and the changes are analyzed by measuring the relative performance of the data in these periods. According to the findings, it is concluded that the foreign banks are more effective than the private banks and the public banks.
