%X In this study, Eb¨± Ja¡®far Muh£¿ammad b. al- H£¿asan b. Al¨© at-£¿¨±s¨©¡¯s (d. 460/1067) approach to qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs has been investigated in his work named at-Tiby¨¡n f¨© Tafs¨©r al-Qur¡¯¨¡n. £¿¨±s¨© is a versatile commentator who is the author of two books of al Kutub al Arba£¿a which are the four main £¿ad¨©th books of the Im¨¡miyyah. His tafs¨©r is one of the most important works of the classical period of Im¨¡miyya Sh¨©£¿a. This book is one of his forty-three works recorded in his book al-Fihrist. One of the subjects on which the Qur'¨¡nic commentaries are mentioned is the qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs. £¿¨±s¨©, with the narrations that he conveyed in many fields, gave wide coverage to the analyzes and evaluations about the language by using the method of acumen in his tafs¨©r. In this context, also the qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs are form the topics he dwelled on. The language and grammar knowledge of the commentator is clearly seen in the evaluations of the narrations of qir¨¡£¿¨¡h. The qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs that are different reading shapes of the Qur'¨¡n cause to differences in meaning, interpretation and judgment in some cases. £¿¨±s¨© also occasionally has choices among the qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs. Rarely, it can be seen that he acted with sectarian concerns in his assessments. We think that £¿¨±s¨©, who has a founding role in the process of the U£¿¨±l¨©lik, is influential in the shaping of the Sh¨©ite viewpoint of the approach to the qir¨¡£¿¨¡hs and the narrations in this subject
