%X The issue of taql£¿d was included in the books of the jurisprudence in the form of a chapter, together with the issue of £¿jtihad, which became concurrent with the formation of the sects in the fourth century Hijri. This subject is also mentioned in the f¨¹r£¿¡¯ ((substantive fiqh) books in the fatwa and Judgment sections. Besides, it has been the subject of some independent works. El-¡®£¿kd¨¹¡¯l-fer£¿d f£¿ ahkami¡¯t-takl£¿d, -belonging to Semh£¿d£¿, one of the Shafi'i jurist, is one of the independent works written in this field. In his work, Semh£¿d£¿ deals with the legitimacy of taql£¿d and the main topics of discussion. Having included the views of Islamic jurists on the subject extensively, Semh£¿d£¿ did not neglect to his own preferences. Semh£¿d£¿ thinks differently from the prevailing view of the Shafi'i sect in some basic issues related to the taql£¿d. In this study, the mentioned work of Semh£¿d£¿ is examined, and it is aimed to determine his views on taql£¿d. The views of the Islamic jurists are given in order to determine the exact approach of Semh£¿d£¿ and to provide a comparison opportunity
