%T EXAMINATION of ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY LEVELS of EMPLOYEES WITH ISO 14001 SYSTEM

%X In this study, it was aimed to determine the environmental literacy of workers of plants that has ISO Environment Management System licence and to examine the relation wtih many demographic factors. One hundred and fifty seven employees who works for 4 different companies in Kocaeli and Istanbul with ISO 14001 licence were the sample of this study. Data were gathered through 20 item Environmental Literacy Scale for Adults and analyzed by indenependent samples t-test and ANOVA test in order to examine the relations of scale scores with various demographic factorssuch as gender, age, education level, marital status, having child, membership to environmental association, working sector and working department. According to the findings of this study scale scores of the participants were high and it was found that environmental literacy scores differed significantly in terms of the place where the participants spent most of their lives, but no significant difference in terms of other variables. This difference was in favor of those who spend most of their life in the province. According to results of this study it can be said that activities in application level are effective in terms of increasing environmental literacy level
