%0 Journal Article %T RESEARCHING THE PERCEPTIONS OF THE EMPLOYEES THAT WORK IN SPORT CENTER ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP STYLE OF THEIR LEADER %A Hakan G£¿ZC¨¹ %J - %D 2019 %X Aim: The aim of this study is analyzing the perceptions of the leadership styles of the managers of employees who work actively in the sport center. Method: The study included 100 volunteers (male: 46, female: 54) that working in 26 different sports centers in Istanbul. Long form of Multi-Factor Leadership Scale which was prepared as five-point likert scale by Bass-Avolio, was used as a data collection means to measure the behavior of the leader. In the study, non-parametric Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U tests were used because the data that belongs of the variables did not show normal distribution. Findings: As a result of the reliability analysis of the scale, Cronbach's Alpha value is 0.81 in transactional leadership dimension; Cronbach's Alpha value is 0.89 in the transformational leadership dimension; Cronbach's Alpha value is 0.72 in Laisses-Faire type leadership dimension; Cronbach's Alpha value is 0.84 in effort and motivation dimension; the total Cronbach Alpha value of the scale was found as 0.94. Conclusion: Leadership style dimensions were examined within the framework of variables that are age, gender, educational status, marital status, total working time and total working time in sports centers. There were not differences the dimensions of interaction leadership, transformational leadership, Laisses-Faire type leadership, effort and motivation according to gender, age, total working time and working time in sports centers. Significant differences were found in all leadership dimensions according to educational status (p<0.05).
