%0 Journal Article %T EVALUATION OF THE "ELECTORAL ALLIANCE" REGULATION AND THE FAIR REPRESENTATION PRINCIPLE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM %A Taylan BARIN %J - %D 2019 %X With the "Amendments to the Law on Basic Provisions on Elections and Voter Registers and Some Laws", (Law No. 7102 on 13/3/2018) political parties are allowed to participate in the elections by forming pre-electoral alliance. The main two advantages of electoral alliance regulations for allied political parties are; they will be subject to the election threshold according to the total votes of the political parties in the alliance and the calculation of the number of deputies of political parties that make alliances is based on the total votes of the alliance. Turkey's electoral law amendment is investigated in the context of presidential system with the point of ¡°fair representation¡± view.
