%0 Journal Article %T Innovative e-Services in Public Libraries: e-Membership, e-Government Integration, Mobile Library Application and e-Book %A Recep I£¿IK %J - %D 2019 %X The constant development in information and communication technology affects the library services deeply in our country as it does worldwide. Parallel to these developments; reasons such as library users¡¯ expectations, the desire to access information faster etc. necessitates more intensive use of information technology tools in delivery of library services. In this context; it has become a necessity that the information services generally provided in libraries be delivered in line with the requirements of the current era. This necessity is unavoidable in case of public libraries that cater to more numerous and various users compared to other types of libraries. Acting on this situation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism - General Directorate of Libraries and Publications, that comprises the extent of our study, has started the process of the integrated running of systems that are used for meeting the expectations of library users at the highest level in Public Libraries. The systems whose integration is set are Open Source ILS - Integrated Library System-Koha, e-Government Portal, ¡°Kutuphanem Cepte¡± mobile library automation application and subscription-based e-book database service. In our study; primarily, information is given about Koha library automation system that is being used in Public Libraries since the year 2014. After that, the processes about the library e-membership performed via the e-Government Portal and about the mobile automation application that runs in a manner that is integrated to the Library automation system (KOHA) is discussed and information about both the e-membership and ¡°Kutuphanem Cepte¡± application¡¯s use is touched upon. In addition, in terms of demonstrating the gains that occur after the integration of these systems and services, statistical data such as usage rates and the number of users are also included in our study.
