%0 Journal Article %T Early Intervention in Acute Gastric Dilation Saves Life %A Sena Balta %J - %D 2018 %X Acute gastric dilatation is a pathology that can be quite mortal with hypotonicity and excessive pressing in the stomach in case of delayed diagnosis and intervention despite there is no mechanical obstruction. In the presence of perforation, emergency surgery decreases mortality. A 14-year-old girl admitted with abdominal pain, bloating, and vomiting. On physical examination, general condition was moderate, abdominal distended, and sensitivity with palpation was present in all quadrants. Abdominal x-ray showed a dilated stomach image. nasogastric tube was performed for gastric decompression. Clinical improvement was observed in the follow-up and the patient was discharged with complete well-being. Acute gastric dilatation is a very rare and mortal pathology. Therefore, early diagnosis is important.
