%0 Journal Article %T CULTURAL TOURISM IN KONYA: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF KARATAY MADRASAH AND THIN MINARET MADRASAH %A Elif Merve Y£¿lmaz %A Mine Ulusoy %J - %D 2018 %X The constructions built during the Anatolian Seljuk period constitute a significant part of Konya's historical and cultural heritage. This heritage, which remained centuries ago, has been carefully preserved and contributes greatly to Konya's cultural tourism. In addition to being the most valuable hadith madrasahs of the era of the Thin Minaret Madrasah and Karatay Madrasah which was built about 800 years ago and two medrasahs of Seljuk works in Konya, they also educated many scientists in the field of theology and science. They are also remarkable by their architects owing to the stone, brick and tile materials used in the construction together with the historical mission they undertakes. These artifacts, which were designed during the period when Konya was the capital of the Seljuks and crowned Konya, are now used as museums.
