%0 Journal Article %T The Effects of Social Problem Solving Programme on Persons in Charge of Child Home %J - %D 2019 %X The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of the program designed to improve the level of social problem solving skills in Persons in Charge of Child Homes. The universe of this research is institutions affiliated to Amasya Family and Social Policies Provincial Directorate, where Persons in Charge of Child Homes work. In order to obtain the data, The Interpersonal Problem Solving Inventory was used as the measurement tool in the pre-test and post-test applications. The sample of persons in charge of child homes consisted of 7 for the experiment and 7 for control group, totalling 14 participants. The developed Social Problem Solving Programme for Persons in Charge of Child Homes applied in 10 sessions which lasted 120 minutes once a week. Non-Parametric Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Sign-Rank Test was used for the analysis of the data. In the analysis to identify the effects of the applied Social Problem Solving Programme for persons in charge of child homes, it was found that Experiment Group¡¯s levels of negative problem orientation and self-insecurity decreased significantly, constructive problem solving and insistent-persistent approach scores increased significantly after the application.
