%T A GENERAL OVERVIEW TO FACT OF THE "LANGUAGE" IN THE QUR'AN AND HADITHS

%X Language is a blessing bestowed upon people by Allah so that they can communicate and establish relations with each other. This study seeks to provide insight into the concept of language in the QurĄŻan and the Hadiths, which are the two fundamental sources of Islam. This study focuses mainly on three issues. The first issue is the concept of the QurĄŻanic language. For this purpose, the verses relevant specifically to the concept of language in the QurĄŻan are brought under focus and examined in relation to definitions, emphasis on Arabic, and different dialects and languages being the signs of Allah. The second issue is about how the concept of language is dealt with in the Hadiths. For this purpose, a general framework is provided in which references were made to the concept of language during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, the language of religious texts, and the Prophet MuhammadĄŻs recommendation to Zayd b. Sabit on learning Syriac. The third issue is related to the assumption that the correct and authentic perspective of the concept of language has weakened over the time and fabricated narrations have come to the forefront. In this context, it is important to note that some hadith scholars have spared dedicated space in their works for some fabricated hadith narrations relating to the concept of language. It is important to analyze languages as sociocultural means of communication and transmitting knowledge from the perspective of the QurĄŻan and the authentic hadiths and to highlight the projections of that understanding today
