The 24th chapter of the first discourse deals with ¡°The Regimen of the Elders¡±. The aim of this study is to contribute to the literature of Turkish history of medicine by translating and discussing that chapter related to the regimen of the elders. For this purpose an Arabic copy printed in Bulaq in Egypt in 1294 AH./1877 AD. and a Latin copy printed in Venice in 1492 were used and translated from both Arabic and Latin into Turkish. After comparing these translations, the differences between them were pointed out in the footnotes and a Turkish text was composed, basing on Arabic translation. Then this text was presented in the results section of the article. The knowledge presented in K¨¡mil al-Sin¨¡£¿a al-£¿£¿bbiyya was evaluated with the knowledge in Aphorisms by Hippocrates, De sanitate tuenda by Galen, Synopsis and Euporistes by Oribasius, Epitome by Paul of Aegina and Liber medicinalis ad Almansorem by Ab¨± Bakr Mu£¿ammad b. Zakariyy¨¡ al-R¨¡z¨©. As a result, it is possible to say that, the Haly Abbas¡¯ account on senectitude and his principles on the regimen of the elders are in accordance with the ideas shared by Hippocrates, especially by Galen within the scope of humoral paradigm. Moreover, it is noticed that Haly Abbas have summarized the Galen¡¯s writings and as a pattern he may have used the related section of Oribasius¡¯ Euporistes %K Ali b. el-Abbas el-Mecusi %K Kamilu¡¯s-S£¿n¨¡£¿ati¡¯t-T£¿bbiyye %K Kitabu¡¯l-Meliki %K Stephanus Antiochus %K geriatri %U http://dergipark.org.tr/mutftd/issue/38866/423525
