%0 Journal Article %T THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE HARP IN THE KA§²A KARAEV AND FARAJ KARAEV'S BALLET MUSIC %A Ganire H¨¹¨¹SEYNOVA %J - %D 2019 %X The history of Azerbaijani music of the 1950¡¯s-70¡¯s, known as an important stage in the search for new methods of the school composition, innovation in performance, as well as in opera and ballet art. In search of enrichment of orchestral timbre, composers often use harp in orchestra. Over time, interesting works will appear in the Western style, with elements of folk music and specific performance techniques. During this period, interesting ideas also appeared in stage music. The bright works of Azerbaijani composers of the second and third generation testify to the high professional level of harp performance. In this regard, modern methods of the harp play techniques, with the formation of a new style, are particularly emphasized in the study. The pinnacle of the harp performance in the Azerbaijan opera and ballet music is closely connected with the work of the famous composer Kara Karayev. The role of the harp in the ballets ¡°Seven Beauties¡± and ¡°The Path of Thunder¡± by K. Karayev, as well as ¡°The Shadow of Gobustan¡± by Faraj Karayev was chosen as the main subject of the paper. These composers have paved the way for the harp, as an important orchestral instrument for ballet and symphonic music. Exploring the history of the harp, we are confronted with the fact that the roots of this instrument go back to the early civilizations of the East. Having passed a difficult historical way, today this ancient instrument is able to express itself in modern language. In this context, the ballet music of K. Karayev and F.
