In addition to the production process, energy is also of great importance in terms of consumption. Showing an increase of industrial investments in Turkey in recent years, especially showing a rapid development of the manufacturing industry and increase in the country's population, the industrial sector, electricity production and effective in the increasing demand for energy used in homes. However, energy cannot be produced in sufficient to meet the demand for energy in Turkey. So Turkey's need for natural gas, oil and coal etc. were imported energy, thus it has become an energy addict country and over time, this dependence has increased. In particular, the expansion of use of natural gas in terms of both production and consumption has been highly effective in increasing energy dependence. As of 2017, 99.36 % of the total domestic natural gas consumption is met by imports. Turkey's natural gas dependence and necessity of creating alternative energy sources in the study which was prepared to reveal, data analysis was made by using the data obtained from Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) and BOTA£¿ for 2007-2017 period. As a result of the analysis, Turkey's natural gas imports increased rapidly as of the period examined, about 35 billion cubic meters at the beginning of the period, the demand for natural gas imports has risen to approximately 55 billion cubic meters as of the end of the period examined and finally the natural gas import dependence was 97.41% to 99.36% during the period examined. In this context, the use of alternative energy sources should be emphasized in order to get rid of this high rate of dependence on natural gas, financial resources should be allocated for investments in this area %K Do£¿al Gaz %K Enerji %K Ba£¿£¿ml£¿l£¿k %K £¿thalat %K Fosil Yak£¿t %U http://dergipark.org.tr/ijar/issue/43278/512598
