%T An Oral History Study on Cinema Spaces in Samsun

%X Cinema spaces are places that have an important place in the cultural history of the society beyond being a simple place. The examination of cinema experiences that give clues about the lifestyles, traditions, customs and habits of the societies in this context is also important in terms of showing how societies have evolved from the past to the present. Cinema spaces are a public space that meets the needs for entertainment and socialization of individuals, and these spaces constitute one of the main parts of the cultural life of the societies. When it is thought that it exists through cultural places, it can be understood that the spaces of cinema spaces are the places that carry the cultural traces of the society. To look at places is to look at cultures and gathering from there. In this study, the historical traces of the cinematic places were tried to be reached on the example of Samsun through the memories of the individuals, so an important cultural space was analyzed by referring to the memories of the individuals. In the 1960s and '70s, how the cinema spaces were used and how they were used, how films and films were traced and received, and how cinematic experiences affected the daily lives and socializations of the individuals were studied. Turkey in the oral history of cinema that examines the local cultural and sociological aspects have been shown to be sufficient in number. It is a comprehensive field of study with cinema, space, film culture, forms of watching and socializing, men and women relations, paradoxes and rituals about real and imaginary world. The oral history method, which is an effective method to reach the sociological and cultural traces of societies, has been evaluated in this context in the study. This study, which examines the past cinema experience of 5 people, presents us with the important cultural and social functions of the places and Samsun sample and important traces of the Turkish culture
