As in urban areas, rural areas also need different spatial solutions to meet spatial, social and economic needs. In Turkey, the decline of agricultural production due to various factors in the rural areas or the change of power by changing the shape of the rural settlements changes the economic character and hence the spatial character. Rural areas, which are more exposed to the pressure of the increasing and intensifying urban population, are rapidly shaped by unidentified urban textures. Urban planning which is aimed at restructuring settlements that do not respond as well, improving living standards, and preserving natural-cultural assets in the future has become a priority issue. The utopia, which is defined as an impossible project or idea, which is also seen as the ideal form of space and city (TDK, 2017) is the aim of this study as a design model approach for rural areas that have a negative transformation with the pressure of urbanization and can not meet their spatial needs. With this aim; Mugla, Central district, Yenik£¿y neighborhood was chosen as the study case. Spatial system design has been revealed in the space by looking for a utopian form which has a spatial system framework including visual and natural sustainability, compactness and healthy access design criteria within spatial survey. It is thought that this work will be used as a model for the production of design policies in the course of physical planning of rural settlements and will provide a futuristic perspective for urban planners and decision makers by contributing to the literature %K K£¿rsal yerle£¿me tasar£¿m£¿ %K ¨¹topya %K Mu£¿la %U http://dergipark.org.tr/medeniyetsanat/issue/42953/449997
