%0 Journal Article %T Constructivist Micro-Teaching Activities with Elementary Teacher Candidates in Course of Science and Technology Laboratory Applications: A Mixed Study %A Alper DURUKAN %A Hasan BAKIRCI %A H¨¹seyin ARTUN %J - %D 2018 %X The purpose of this study was to reveal students¡¯ reflections who used laboratory tools and to teach the students the outcomes of the elementary school fourth grade course of Science by using the 5E learning model of the constructivist learning theory. In line with this purpose, the study tried to examine the applicability and influence of 5E learning model in the course of Science and Technology Laboratory Applications-I within the scope of the curriculum applied in the department of Elementary School Teaching. In the study, the mixed design was used as the qualitative and quantitative data were collected together. The research sample included a total of 98 second-grade students attending the department of Elementary School Teaching at the Education Faculty of Van Yuzuncu Yil University. In the study, Science Laboratory Attitude Scale, Preservice Teacher Evaluation Rubric and semi-structured interview form were used as the data collection tools in coordination. While analyzing the data, dependent t-test was conducted for the Science Laboratory Attitude Scale, and a categorization with four groups was used for the Preservice Teacher Evaluation Rubric. As for the analysis of the data collected via the semi-structured interview form, themes and codes were used.
