%0 Journal Article %T Evaluation of Master¡¯s Thesis in the Field of Tourism Management: A Case of Afyon Kocatepe University %A Ahmet Baytok %A Elbeyi Pelit %A Mehmet Boyraz %J - %D 2019 %X The bibliometric analysis of the thesis is important in terms of the determination of how the relevant discipline and the field communication is realized, discovery of the direction of scientific tendency, follow-up of the theoretical development process and the future direction of science. From this point of view, it was aimed to evaluate bibliometric of the master thesis written in the field of tourism management within the scope of the research. The research population constitutes the master thesis which was completed by the foundation (2007) of Afyon Kocatepe University Department of Tourism Management until December 31, 2017. Theses are described by frequency and percentage analysis through statistical package program. It has been determined that 40 master's theses were completed in an 8-year period with an average of 5 dissertations per year, and advisor of 10 different academic members contributes to the management of theses by research. More than half of the subjects covered in the theses are written in the field of management and organization. As a result of the research, it is seen that theses are performed on employees and tourists as the population; in terms of the data collection method, the quantitative research method and the survey technique are used predominantly in theses; in the case of field research, all of the theses are implemented practically; sampling methods that are not based on probability are mostly preferred with a rate of 37.5%; in data analysis, 73,5% relational and 26,5% descriptive statistics were used.
