%T Characteristics of ¡°Han£¿m Parma£¿£¿¡± Olive Variety Located in Ezine District of £¿anakkale

%X The first studies on the olive genetic resources started in Olive Research Institute in 1968. Different genotypes determined in the surveys have been collected, grafted and protected in the field of the Institute. These genotypes have been characterized since 1980. So far, there are 92 domestic/ 33 foreign varieties and 37 genotypes have been kept under protection in the Olive Gene Bank located in Kemalpa£¿a, Izmir. Surveys have been still carried out in the olive growing regions.A new genotype , which was known as ¡°Hanim Parmagi¡±, was determined during the survey in Mecidiye Village of Ezine District, Canakkale in 2006. The morphological characterization on this genotype was completed in 2014. Following that, the registration procedures were fulfilled between 2015-2016 and it was registered by Olive Research Institute in 2017 upon the application to ¡°Variety Registration and Seed Certification Center¡±
