Therefore this study intends to assess and evaluate air quality levels in SEA through the years of 2011-2015. Methods: The data for this cross-sectional study was taken from the website of the air quality monitoring stations at ministry of environment and urbanization of Turkey. Dependent variables of the study were; PM10 and SO2 values and independent variables were; province, winter season, summer season and whole year. The measurements were compared with the WHO limit values. Results: The average SO2 at SEA is 26.05¡À72.85. For the provinces, Ad£¿yaman 9.94¡À11.50, Batman 15.93¡À23.47, Diyarbak£¿r 10.91¡À12.19, Gaziantep 12.03¡À14.55, Kilis 6.31¡À5.43, Mardin 20.95¡À24.30, Siirt 21.39¡À31.38, £¿anl£¿urfa 8.83¡À11.01, £¿£¿rnak 138.07¡À186.87'. The average PM10 at SEA is 62.33¡À54.47. and for the provinces Ad£¿yaman 63.42¡À45.14, Batman 86.12¡À62.14, Diyarbak£¿r 55.88¡À42.82, Gaziantep 76.29¡À55.46, Kilis 42.68¡À39.94, Mardin 57.60¡À62.33, Siirt 96.09¡À63.29, £¿anl£¿urfa 52.98¡À44.68, £¿£¿rnak 29.89¡À30.48. The difference in the average of PM10 and SO2 of the provinces in SEA is statistical significance (p<0.001). Conclusion: Air pollution is the largest problem remarkably in Siirt among SEA provinces when PM10 and SO2 evaluated together. According to five years of evaluation Kilis have better air quality compared to other provinces in SEA.
