This effect is also reflected in non-Western societies and democracy has become an ideal for them. Turkey, which is a democratic country in this region, is an important example. Turkey has achieved this qualification as the result of a struggle for two centuries as in the West. This process overlaps with Hungtinton's definition of "waves of democratization".
