%0 Journal Article %T The Relationship between Renewable Energy Consumption and Economic Growth: New Evidence from the European Union %A Abdullah Emre £¿a£¿lar %J - %D 2018 %X Renewable energy is becoming more widespread due to a dawning of environmental consciousness in Europe, especially in countries that have transitioned to the information economy. However, the same transition requires serious infrastructure investment. These countries need sound economic potential. Therefore, in the European Union (EU) countries with intensive energy demand, determining the relationship between those two variables carries considerable importance for both the countries and the world. Even though the study found no clear causality between them in the short term, over the long term, we encountered a two-sided causality.
