%0 Journal Article %T Evaluation of Performances of Primary School 4th Grade Students About Read Time on a Clock in Subject of Measuring Time %A Zeynep Do£¿an %J - %D 2019 %X The purpose of this study is to examine the level of knowledge of the 4th grade students about the subject of time measurement and to identify the difficulties and misconceptions about learning the subject. The sample of the study has consisted of 120 students who are studying in a fourth year school in a public school in Istanbul in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. The pattern of the study was determined as a screening pattern. The data of the study has been obtained by the data collection tool which has been developed by the researchers about the reading of the hours of time measurement. The data collection tool has been applied to the students in the given sample for 1 lesson hour. The answers of the students to the items in the measurement tool were evaluated according to the correct, inaccurate and empty cases. According to the general results obtained from the research, the difficulties encountered by the students about the concept of time, misconceptions and false learning; mixing of the concepts of before noon and afternoon, not being able to distinguish between the concepts of before noon and afternoon; Mixing the concepts of ¡°past¡± and ¡°to¡±; not been understood the concepts of ¡°past¡± and ¡°to¡±; the hour hand is not advanced when the minute hand is advanced, not been known of the rule ¡°hour hand shows hour, minute hand shows the minute¡± and been mixed concepts of hour hand and minute hand; while drawing hour hand and minute hand on clock, curved line drawing instead of drawing the straight line was obtained %K £¿lkokul matematik £¿£¿retimi %K zaman £¿l£¿me %K saatleri okuma %K yanl£¿£¿ £¿£¿renme %U http://dergipark.org.tr/temelegitim/issue/42508/533843
