%T FROM TEMPORARY MIGRATION TO A SETTLED LIFE : FUTURE MIGRATION POTENTIAL OF THE YOUNG IN HIGHER EDUCATION

%X The concept of migration has a significant role in reconstructing the society. Migration can lead to some economic, social, cultural and political changes, however it can be caused by these changes as well. Accordingly, the concept of migration can be regarded as a socio-cultural means of exchange with its fundamental underlying causes and effects. Today, particularly in terms of globalization, both national and international mobility of the individuals have been taken into consideration by using computing technologies with the flow of information. In terms of the relation between migration and education, the aim of this study is to analyse the perception of migration and the future migration potential of the higher education students, who have migrated ¡°temporarily¡± from their hometown to the city, where they get university education. Therefore, phenomenological design, as one of the qualitative researches, was used in this study. The study group involves 32 senior students studying in Child Development Program of Celal Bayar University, Salihli during Spring Term between 2017 and 2018. The findings obtained have indicated that the mobility of temporary migration of the young for the purpose of changing their daily lives and getting higher education will sustain for employment as well
