%X Abstarct The red reflex examination is a useful screening test that can be easily performed bygeneral practioners, pediatricians, or ophthalmologists, to determine ophthalmologic pathologies such as congenital cataract, glaucoma, retinoblastoma and corneal or retinal diseases. To perform the test, the examiner focuses the direct ophthalmoscope on the patient¡¯s each eye and then both pupils, simultaneously. Although a normal result of redreflex test excludes major ophthalmologic pathologies, an abnormal test result such asleukocoria (white color), black dot, asymmetry, and abnormal size, shape or position ofthe pupil necessiates quick referral to ophthalmologist
