%0 Journal Article %T Investigation of the Views of the First and Emergency Aid Program Students About Summer Internship %A Hatice Demira£¿ %J - %D 2019 %X Objective: Internships enable students' to acquire their professional skills, adapt to the profession and become familiar with their fields. The purpose of this study is to examine the views of first and emergency students on summer internship and to develop new proposals to improve the quality of summer internship in line with the results. Method: This descriptive study was carried out in September 2018 with a total of 100 students who completed the first and the first summer internship at the Kelkit Health Services Vocational School in G¨¹m¨¹£¿hane University. The data of the study were collected with "Survey Form". Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to evaluate the data. Results: The students participating in the study, %58 was man and the mean age was 19.03 ¡À 1.64. Fifty-eight percent of students (58%) of the students had their summer internship at the hospital emergency department. It was determined that the students considered necessary the summer internship (99%) and found the 30-day internship period appropriate (55%). The students stated that the summer internship should be in the summer period of the first year and in-year (56%), the internship will gain experience (98%), were are satisfied with the internship (92%), that the employees of the institution show interest to them to gain professional experience (92%), had the opportunity to practice (13.1%), only important cases should be written in the internship file (34.1%) and that the internship should be done within the year (18.6%) in order to make the internship more effective. Conclusion: The majority of students are satisfied with their summer internship. Effective planning should be made in order for the students to benefit from the summer practice. In line with the opinions and suggestions of the students, it was decided that the "Vocational Practice-I ¡±and " Vocational Practice-II¡± courses located in the first and emergency aid programs are to be held in the hospital as an internship within the scope of full-time practice training two days a wee %K £¿lk ve acil yard£¿m program£¿ %K yaz staj£¿ %K g£¿r¨¹£¿ ve £¿neri %U http://dergipark.org.tr/ouhcd/issue/44850/531926
