Mergers and acquisitions are expressed as the loss of legal status and the birth of a new company as a result of bringing together all the assets and resources of two or more firms. The emergence of some problems as a result of intensive and exhausting mergers and acquisitions is seen as a very natural result, while increasing productivity, profitability and possible financial or activity synergy are among the main benefits of company mergers and acquisitions. In the perspective of the possible effects of mergers and acquisitions, the main purpose of the research is to highlight the impact of mergers and acquisitions that have taken place in developed (United States, Britain, Canada, Anmany, France, Italy and Spain) and emerging (Turkey, China, Brazil, Mexico, India, South Africa and Russia) economies, on firm performance after 2008 Financial Crisis in the period between 02.01.2012 - 31.12.2012. According to the findings, the majority of the developed and emerging markets have resulted in the loss of performance of the operations after merger and acquisition activity.
