%0 Journal Article %T The Analysis of Primary School Students' Achievement Changes in Mathematics and Science Classes According to TIMSS 2011 and TIMSS 2015 Examinations %A Cenk YOLDA£¿ %A Okay I£¿LAK %J - %D 2018 %X Since education has existed, we are constantly seeking answers to the question "What should we do to increase our achievement even further?". In order to increase the success rate is one of the most common methods that follow to see how education policies of other countries. Extensive evaluations such as TIMSS, PISA and PIRLS enable countries to see where they are placed in the world in terms of their achievements. Moreover, many countries amend their education systems based on the findings of these applications. Periodic implementation of aforementioned applications provides great benefit to check the effectiveness of modifications made. General purpose of this study is to demonstrate the observed modification in the achievements of Mathematics and Science of 4th grade students' in TIMSS 2011 and TIMSS 2015. It is believed that demonstrating a modification in achievement scores obtained from 2011-2015 applications of TIMSS's extensive evaluation which is implemented periodically will give the researchers a chance to look at the effectiveness of teaching activities applied in the country from a broad perspective. In this context, the data that will provide a basis for the study which consists of the raw data and documents has officially published on the IEA's website. The reason why descriptive method used is that it aims to put an existing situation forward in the study. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics such as percentage and frequency were used.
