In these works, the Turkish concept has been interpreted through the Ottoman invasions and the Dev£¿irme system. However, in the minds of children and young people, the Turks have been provided with deterrence, othering (Muslim / Christian, Oriental / Western) and hatred. In addition, terrible and monstrous Turkish portraits are drawn, and the "fear of Turk", which is expressed as "Tš¹rkenfurcht" in German, is reinforced. This study is primarily concerned with the Turkish sense of German origins published under the domination of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In addition to the Turkish image in these works, it is evaluated how the Turkish concept is handled in the visual children's book "Hatschi Bratschis Luftballoon".
