%X £¿irket-i Hayriye has left a significant track on economic and social structures of Ottoman life. It was the first share company which established in Ottoman State in 1850. It gave the first example of such a company culture. It has connected Bosporus and Istanbul to each other very first time. The share company with the privilage of passenger and freighter was not only a pioneer in economy and technology but also in the social responsibility.It was also the one of the first companies which had the ¡°double entry bookkeeping records¡±. Till 1945 £¿irket-I Hayriye was the main transportation between Bosporus and £¿stanbul and was transferred to £¿stanbul Public City Transportation by the government at 1945
