%0 Journal Article %T Securitization as a Financial Tool and Its Accounting %J - %D 2019 %X In this study, the types of securitization, which is an important financial instrument, related parties, accounting, positive and negative effects on the economy are examined. Securitization is the conversion of illiquid assets into securities through financial engineering and selling those securities or the cash flow which will be provided by them. In Turkey, this method is used mostly by banks. Securitization is a complex activity and its accounting applications are related to several standards. The purpose of this study is to set forth an important but complex financial tool and clarify the related accounting practices.
