%0 Journal Article %T Metaphorical Perceptions of Teachers Regarding Professional Freedom %A Asiye TOKER G£¿K£¿E %A Ejder G¨¹VEN %J - %D 2018 %X The aim of this study is to examine professional freedom perceptions of teachers in Turkey and in their schools via metaphors. Study group of research consists of 45 teachers serving in different branches in primary and secondary education level in Kocaeli province in 2015-2016 academic year. The data obtained for the study was analyzed according to the content analysis. Totally 45 current metaphors regarding professional freedom were produced by the participants. According to result of the research, the participants used metaphors of difficulty, obscurity, despair, independence, sophistication, financial power, responsibility, happiness and creativity-values regarding professional freedom perceptions in terms of serving as a teacher in Turkey.
