While giving information about this region, it is expressed as the northern or southern region of Syria (Bilad-i £¿am), but the city names are rarely used. In fact, among the names of these cities, only a few cities of the region are mentioned. This situation has made it difficult to collect detailed information about Latakia. In addition, the information given is very superficial, consists of general geographic information. There is no definite information as to which period and who you are in possession of. For this reason, the relations between the states operating in the region and their political situation was tried to be determined. In this context, it was aimed to establish a dominance chart based on the developments in the region related to Latakia and to see how the city of Latakia changed. In this process, Latakia; Byzantine, Fatimid, Abbasid, Tolunoglu, Ih£¿idi, Seljuk State and occasionally the native Arab tribes have been controlled.
