%X Many chronicles on the Crusades exist today. Itinerarium Regis Ricardi is one of them and an outstanding example. Telling about the events of the Third Crusade the book frequently mentions the Turks and the Crusaders¡¯ struggles against them. Thus it yields valuable evidence for understanding the image of the Turk in the minds of the Crusaders, it presents clear evidences. In this paper, based on the translation of Helen J.
