%0 Journal Article %T Silk Production in the Ertu£¿rul Sanjak in the Early 20th Century %A Halim Demiry¨¹rek %J - %D 2018 %X Ertu£¿rul Sanjak, founded in 1885, consisted of S£¿£¿¨¹t, £¿neg£¿l and Yeni£¿ehir qazas, with the center being Bilejik. In Bilejik having a wide range of mulberry fields many silk workshops have been opened. Most of the manufacturing plants belonged to non-Muslims, especially to Armenians. Workers who was working at these factories in Bursa and Bilecik had a strike action in 1910. The World war I process led to the shutdown of a number of factories.
