%0 Journal Article %T The Importance of Resilience for Social Workers %A Burcu Gen£¿ %A Sema Buz %J - %D 2019 %X Resilience is a characteristic that helps the individual to cope with difficulties. Resilience, a learned and developed characteristic, is of great importance for the social workers who try to increase the well-being of people while experiencing fatigue and burnout. In order to cope with the difficulties in the field, efforts should be made to ensure the resilience of the social workers. This study emphasizes the importance of resilience for social workers and suggests strategies on how to build. In the first part of the study, conceptual discussions and definitions related to resilience are given, and then the importance of resilience for social workers is discussed in the context of national and international literature. In this framework, the difficulties faced by social workers in practice and the importance of developing resilience as a strategy for solving these difficulties are discussed.
