%0 Journal Article %T Turkish-American Relations in the Process of Breaking Diplomatic Relations to Strategic Partnership (1917-1945) %A G¨¹rb¨¹z Arslan %J - %D 2018 %X The aim of this study is to explain the course of Turkish-American relations, which started in 1917 and started to be transformed into a strategic partnership as of 1946, and the factors affecting the political and economic developments, problems and strategic partnerships in this period. In the first part of the study, Turkish-American relations in the Ottoman Empire period were briefly mentioned and information was given about cutting of diplomatic relations. In the second chapter, the Turkish-American relations in the period of Mustafa Kemal Atat¨¹rk, in which the formal relations were resumed and developed, were examined. In the last chapter, the two countries act according to their national interests and the relations begin to gain a new dimension. Turkish-American relations during World War II.
