%0 Journal Article %T THE VIEWS TO PRECARIOUS/TEMPORARY WORK OF EMPLOYEES OF SHIPBUILDING SECTOR %A Mevl¨¹t Y£¿lmaz %A S¨¹leyman £¿lhan %J - %D 2018 %X This study that focuses on the semantic world of unsecured/temporary employees working in the ship building sector is grounded on a field study carried out by applying a questionnaire to 301 shipyard employees who are employed as subcontractors and daily laborers in £¿stanbul/Tuzla Shipyard Zone. As a result of the study, it has been determined that precarious/temporary business manner for shipyard employees has been accepted as the basic reality of today's labor market and is closely related with unqualification/despair of employees. According to employees, the sense of temporary working also affects the off-duty lives of employees negatively. Temporariness not only has an abrasive effect on the self-perception of people who work individually, but also causes a number of problems like being socially ignored by the social environment and getting excluded from some socio-economic opportunities.
